Pineapple variety MD2 is a pineapple hybrid originally produced by Pineapple Research Industry in Hawaii and currently being the highest demanded variety in the international market.
It is known to be having sweet aroma, golden blemish free flesh, high sugar content (brix 15 – 18%), ripen evenly and longer shelf life compared to other pineapple variety.
Pineapple clonal variety ‘MD2’ are nursed in planting trays at the green house during acclimatization stage for 3 months before field planting. One tray can accommodate 50 pineapple plantlets.
